Norwegian Wind Cruise
The photos below were taken during a September
2001 cruise to Glacier Bay aboard Norwegian Cruise Line's
"Norwegian Wind"

Above - National Park rangers set up shop
during the cruise into Glacier Bay. This is the Norwegian
Wind's Observatory Lounge.

Above - Seen from our suite on Norwegian Wind,
Holland America's Volendam is in background as both ships head
into Icy Strait (just south of Glacier Bay).

Those are little "Bergy Bits" floating in the water.

We are aboard Norwegian Wind, in Glacier Bay,
heading south after leaving John Hopkins Inlet/Glacier. Holland
America's "Volendam" is on her way into the inlets. She is
dwarfed by the mountain ranges above Glacier Bay. While the Bay
is in Alaska, some of the peaks seen are just inside Canada's
Yukon.

his neck.

We have included a number of photos of the
Volendam, in order to give you a sense of the size of the peaks
surrounding the Inside Passage, and in the above photo, Glacier
Bay.

Above is another view from the ship, giving a
sense of the scale of mountain versus ship.
